Allison J Cowin
Allison Cowin is an NHMRC Senior Research Fellow and Professor of Regenerative Medicine at the University of South Australia. She is a leading researcher in the area of wound healing and scar formation and Program 2 Leader of the Wound Management Innovation CRC. Her research focuses on developing new antibody-based therapies for the treatment of chronic wounds and burn injuries and has received special recognition from the NHMRC by inclusion in the 2008 ‘10 of the best projects’ publication. In 2009 she was awarded the MS McLeod Medal for Research Excellence. Prof Cowin is Joint Editor of Wound Practice & Research and on the Editorial Advisory Board of Wound Repair and Regeneration. She is on the Scientific Advisory Board of The Australasian Blistering Diseases Foundation and was the founder and inaugural President of the Australasian Wound & Tissue Repair Society.
